Agenda

1. Zeljko Dodlek (MapR)
Case Study of BigData use with MapR M7 in the Enterprise Datacenter (15min)

NoSQL is often used to deal with large scale data needs, but most NoSQL solutions lack strong data integrity features. I will describe how one company is solving their big data problems using MapR M7. MapR's Data Platform (MDP) provides tables as a built in feature of the file system and exposes an HBase compatible API for accessing these tables.  The architecture of the system is designed to scale to very large sizes, to avoid long pauses due to compaction and allow complete integration with MapR's snapshots and mirrors.

We will talk about a specific customer use-case where the customer's priorities for Reliability, Ease of Use and Business Continuity made M7 the best choice.

2. Pierre Gauthier (EON Inc)
Scaling on multicore (40min)

TrustLeap G-WAN is the only app. server offering scripts in asm, C, C++, C#, D, Go, Java, Javascript, Lua, Objective-C, Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby and Scala. G-WAN is also the only Web server that performs and scales so well on multicore systems. Here we discuss how it was made possible for G-WAN to do so much better and what challenges this new technology is addressing in the context of Big Data.

3. Christian Glatschke (Splunk) & Mika Borner (LC Systems) (40min)

Christian Glatschke explains how Splunk can turn machine-generated big data into real-time insights. Splunk Enterprise is the leading platform for collecting, analyzing and visualizing machine data, integrated end-to-end and real-time, Splunk software provides a unified way to organize and extract actionable insights from the massive amounts of machine data generated across diverse sources.

LC Systems is the leading Splunk Partner in Switzerland. Mika Borner will present how Splunk’s integrated stack helps Swisscom and other Swiss customers gain more insight into their ever growing amount of machine data.
